My Teaching Philosophy

I never felt more of a belonging to any profession as I do in teaching. It’s not just a career or a passion…it’s a calling. It’s who I am. Being in the classroom empowers me to empower students. I rejoice knowing that I am making a contribution in their lives. Here are are my philosophies based on my experience as a teacher.

Teaching is a Learning Process…

..for both the teacher and student.  For the student, It’s not just about note-taking and for the teacher it’s not just about giving lectures. It’s about developing a bond between teacher-student and student-student.  It’s obvious that students learn from the teacher, but I make myself open to learning from students, colleagues, parents and the community. By building relationships of trust, the teacher and student become partners in creating a powerful learning environment that benefits everyone in the class.

Teaching is a lifelong process where one adjusts to new strategies, new ideas, and new philosophies.

Teaching is a lifelong process where one adjusts to new strategies, new ideas, and new philosophies. Over time my educational philosophy may change and rightly so, students change, times change, scenarios change. Adjusting to change should indicate my growth, maturing, and understanding of this profession.

I’m here to help you anyway you need. If I don’t have the answer I’ll find it.
